The G2 Experience

One of the most satisfying roles I have within my wide remit is as the
seating consultant for Bridson & Horrox. It is extremely satisfying to
know that you have not just sold a customer a new chair, but at the
same time you have improved their comfort and posture and eased
any back pain they had during their working day.

Addition of new Fulcrum Pro counter components – desk height modules to insert in a counter run, or at the end of a run.

Lacquer combination options added for some Fulcrum items (Fulcrum Pro Counters: Arrowhead, Panel T, Wing, Diamond, Arc and Box bases: reconfigurable tables on panel ends: Box and Arrowhead base coffee tables). [Top in veneer and base/vertical panels in white or black lacquer]

Ambus, Brevis, Juice

Major upgrade to Ambus Bench. Intermediate frames replaced with Power Towers, providing greatly enhanced cable handling. Redesigned metal endframes with internally accessible steel cable riser replacing plastic risers.

Addition of Flexible cable spine in white (YFTS/WH)

Presentation Centres reintroduced – accidently omitted from last price list. Presentation Centres now have dual purpose whiteboard/projector screen and the separate roller blind screen is no longer required. Prices have been significantly reduced as a consequence.

Juice – deletion of J leg option.

X-Range

Addition of alternative bench frames: square and rectangular (on initial benches and side extensions).

Change to cost and make-up of bench height adjustment kits: now include more fittings and brackets.

New specification requirement: If a double-sided initial bench desk is to be used stand-alone, without add-on modules, you must also order a Central Power Tower (which fits lengthways not side to side) to provide both cable management and enhanced stability. If a cable tray is required it must be a new variant with a cut-out to accommodate the tower.

Note added that single-sided bench desks with sliding tops cannot be fitted with screens – floor standing screens must be used if screening is required.

Note added that transverse screens, screens with slatwall and ALU screens to fit X-Range bench are all available on request, POA.

Addition of cable spines in black, silver and white

Seating dimensions added at the rear of the X-Range price list.

The working chair (G8E) has a high back which is adjustable in height, enabling the lumbar curve to be positioned wherever preferred: it also features a sliding seat as standard.

Bridson & Horrox Group celebrates 80 years in business

Clients of Bridson & Horrox Group have helped the company to celebrate 80 years in business in the Isle of Man.

The company has delivered 1,500 bespoke cupcakes in specially designed and branded boxes to a selection of its loyal client base around the Island to thank them for their support. Cakes were designed and produced by Julie Gianquitto of ‘Stuff Ur Face Cupcakes’ in Onchan.

Bridson & Horrox Group – the only printing company on the Island to achieve the globally recognised UKAS accreditation ISO Standard 14001:2004 for its environmental management* as well as ISO 9001 for quality management – has significantly diversified its range of services in order to stay ahead of the market and continue to deliver innovative and forward-thinking solutions for its clients.

Without ever forgetting its roots and still with a huge emphasis on print, the company has moved away from simply being a printing firm and developed its expertise in to eight specialist areas:

  • Print
  • Digital print
  • Direct Mail
  • Office stationery
  • Office furniture
  • Signage
  • Design
  • Document management

Many of its services are joined-up to benefit its customers, providing them with a one-stop shop where they can go for all of their business requirements and reducing the need to manage multiple supplier relationships.

Based on the Hills Meadow Industrial Estate in Douglas, the company employs 42 staff across its eight business units.

Bridson & Horrox Group’s ISO accreditation means its business management framework has been designed to reduce the impact of its operations on the environment, resulting in a more efficient performance, including a reduction in waste and consumption of resources, and lower operating costs.

Its ManRoland litho printing press is also ‘greener’ than other models available on the market, and in the 1990s it became one of the first companies in the UK – and the first on the Island – to install digital printing capability.

Darren Horrox, Managing Director of Bridson & Horrox Group, commented: “Diversification, customer service, exceptional quality and value for money are without doubt the keys to success, and our staff have an unwavering focus on delivering these for our clients on a daily basis. This is how we have managed the transition from the family-run printing firm that began life in 1933 to today, and continue to work with some of the clients we did 80 years ago.

“We’re here to make life simple for our customers and deliver an exceptional service to them, whether it be printing some fliers for them, helping them with designing and installing new signage at their premises, organising a mail-merge and facilitating the print and delivery of that, supplying them with office stationery or new office furniture, or even helping them with relocation and creating their new office space.

“Embracing change and investing in new technologies and services, becoming real innovators for our customers, will remain at the forefront of our creative thinking as we move forward and look to the future.”

Bridson & Horrox Group makes printing history in the Isle of Man

Bridson & Horrox Group has become the only printing company on the Island to achieve a globally recognised accreditation for its environmental management from the UK’s official Accreditation Service (UKAS)*.

It has been awarded the UKAS ISO Standard 14001:2004 following years of hard work by its staff to redefine its processes, and implement a new business management framework designed to reduce the impact of its operations on the environment. This has resulted in a more efficient business performance, including a reduction in waste and consumption of resources, and lower operating costs.

Some key changes to the way Bridson & Horrox Group now operates include:

  • Collection and recycling or safe disposal of all waste generated during the printing process, or waste collected from clients
  • Sourcing of office furniture from ‘green’ suppliers
  • Sourcing of paper supplies produced using sustainable resources
  • Encouraging clients to use recycled paper and other materials wherever possible
  • More efficient delivery routes to shorten journey times and reduce fuel consumption
  • Adoption of ‘green’ policies by all staff in the workplace

The company’s Roland litho printing press is also ‘greener’ than other models available on the market. Staff are independently assessed on a regular basis to ensure they are continuing to meet the accreditation’s very strict criteria.

Companies with the ISO 14001: 2004 Standard are perceived to be innovative and forward-thinking both to prospective customers and employees; it also improves their access to new customers and business partners.

Based on the Hills Meadow Industrial Estate in Douglas, Bridson & Horrox Group specialises in all aspects of printing delivery, design, stationery provision, office furniture supply and signage supply to both corporate and private clients across the Isle of Man.

Darren Horrox, Chief Executive of Bridson & Horrox Group, commented: “The process of working towards, and ultimately achieving, this ISO environmental management accreditation has had a huge impact on our business, and certainly changed it for the better. It has made our employees more environmentally aware of their surroundings and the way they work, and they now actively reinvent business processes where necessary to help us maintain our green credentials.

“It has also helped us to help our clients become more aware of the environment and they way they can redefine their business processes to increase efficiency and performance, reduce their costs and ultimately become greener themselves.

“I’m incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication shown by our staff in achieving this prestigious Standard, and the way they are helping both Bridson & Horrox Group and our customers to become greener citizens.”
